05.19.09 Hideous; Living the American Nightmare
What's up friends & fiends alike...
This is PawL speaking. I am officially poised to go into production with Living the American Nightmare, a documentary... excuse me... ROCKumentary on what it is to struggle in the underground music industry as a starving artist and what it makes you into. (I am hoping) That if you want to ever make a living off true art this film will give you pause. I want to weed out the week and motivate the strong.
For those of you who don't know who Myke Hideous is, he's an artist, musician, and writer from New Jersey. He's been performing for over 20 years with his band, The Empire Hideous. Most people would know him better as the "Lost" Misfit. He was the 3rd singer of the horror punk band the Misfits, before departing months later to be replaced by the returning Michale Graves. His life oozes drama, suspense, agony, disappointment, and above all DEDICATION.
I believe people need to realize that there is an underworld of artists who are literally bleeding for their craft in front of handfuls of people.. loyal people. We are on a meager budget, and I will give anyone the opportunity to work with me on this on the following conditions:
-You are willing to work for free. No one doing this (including me and Myke) is getting paid. We are simply doing what we love to do.
-You are in the arts in some capacity.
-You are not checking your watch and really want this.
-You make the offer yourself. I will not beg or even ask. I will say yes to any self motivated people.
I am humbled to be working with who we have to speak with already. Myke Hideous, Michale Graves, the Bouncing Souls, Arturo Vega, J-Sin Trioxin and J.V. Bastard from Mister Monster, Don from the Tombstones, Hank 3's bassist; Joe Buck, and many other prospective musicians, journalists, lifers, and all round real people are sitting with us. A few names we have on the shelf are surprising even me, almost overwhelmingly so... but you'll have to wait and see.........
